If you like animals, this unframed O/C is quite folksy. The scene has a Black man, horses, chickens and a rooster to round out a naive farm scene. It is signed, T E Bartlett 1906. This late 19h C oil has a patch to protect a scar on the front over the barn, but it doesn't appear to go through. It really doesn't detract much when you take in the whole farm scene. It measures 20"X14".

Painting of a Young Girl
Dimensions: 17 1/2" by 22"
Signed: S.S. Walker Aug. 23 rd, 1844
Type: O/C
Price: SOLD

Fresh out of an Chatham, NY estate is this painting (along with her sister in the next photo) . The estate was the Robert Pace estate, Slate Hill Road, Chatham, NY. According to the history, the couple was the first to graduate from the Julliard School of Music together. Walker was the artist and  he or she must have done both paintings on the same day, Aug. 23rd, 1844. It appears the frames are original and the paintings are in great condition. Both have a small patch on the sleeve areas that may have had touch ups, but they were done a long time ago. It's great to find two sisters dressed in period clothing from the same estate, esp. one with a folksy cat.

Price: SOLD

I don't buy a lot of samplers, but the price and figures were attractive to me. It has birds, a cool dog, flowers, trees and a girl. I am not sure if the frame is original, but the backing is somewhat old.   It really looks great hanging and attractive.

Double Eagle 32 Degree Mason
Dimensions: 10 3/4" x 12"
Date: Ca 1950
Material: Wood
Found: Texas
Price: SOLD

A little research, thanks to my friend David, shows this 32 degree Mason is a Scottish Rite and an ancient accepted right of Freemasonry. It is part of a worldwide fraternity. Scottish Rite Masonry was to extend the Mason way of life by promoting personal character, leadership and the family way of life. One great thing about his business is to learn about historical things and how they relate to our lives. This was obviously a special part of the Mason gatherings.

Material: Sheet metal/  Iron
Found: New Hampshire
Price: SOLD

From my collection is this wonderful witch, cat and broom weather vane. The paint is all original and the mustard and black are a great contrast. He broom handle is a reddish brown. This has never been offered for sale by me, that's how much I like
it! It appears this may have been represented by the Barclay Co. in the 1928 manual of weather vanes. I have seen a couple of these over the years ,but none were painted and nearly as nice as this one. Looks great on the wall!!!

Date: Ca. 1920 signed: W. Stern
Material: O/C
Found: New England
Price:
SOLD

As I stated previously, rabbit paintings are not easy to find. Looks like a multicultural rabbit gathering. White, brown and black. I am sure they get along better than our human companions, but the black rabbit has a sneered look on his face as well as the white rabbit. Again fresh to the market from my collection. The frame is nice, but not original to the painting. On the back is written, W. Stern 1879 to 1939.

Out of the attic in New Hampshire came this wonderful hand painted railroad set, carved for someone's child. It dates about 1850 and has cut nails, screws and old sewing parts for the 3 engines. One of the engines has Hercules written on it and it was produced in Pennsylvania by the Eastwick and Harrison Co in 1837 to the Beaver Meadow Railroad. One of he cars has Concord written on it which was in New Hampshire. There are 12 cars to go with the engines, all hand painted with eagles, ships and other decorations. The engines are about 5" long and the cars are 4 1/2" to 6" long. This is a very rare set of carved trains for some lucky child!!!
